WHO ARE WE Pattaconk Yacht Club is a predominantly power boat owners club. Emphasis of the club is on providing an economical location for slipping a boat, with easy access to the mouth of the Connecticut River and Long Island Sound. Boating safety and boating community are stressed. The club offers six structured dinners per year and a number of informal barbeques and picnics. An annual cruising rendezvous is held usually in the Long Island Sound waters. Attendance at the events is encouraged, but not required. Much of the maintenance of the club infrastructure is done by the members, and it is mandatory that each member participate in (2) work parties per year. We maintain our own docks, including pulling the ramps in the fall and securing the docks in the center of the basin. The fuel dock is de-commissioned and moved to the basin. Water and electricity to the docks are shut off. In the spring, another work party is dedicated to putting the docks back in place and restoring the services. Occasionally significant repair tasks are completed by the club members. Here the deck on the front of the clubhouse is replaced with a more durable surface. When a project is beyond the expertise of the membership, outside contractors are hired to complete the tasks. We are fortunate that many of the club members have exceptional skills and licenses, and that they are willing to apply their talents to maintaining the facility. While not every member can boast of these skills, there are always enough "pair of hands" jobs to keep everyone busy. WHERE ARE WE Lat 41° 24" 37' Lon -72° 25" 48' 61 Dock Road Chester CT
